Based on research done in VMP 493, this fiction film was created with the intention of spotlighting the essence of the American mock-documentary. While referencing peer reviewed articles and cat enthusiast journals I was able to capture the legitimacy of a real life cat show competition and the commitment it takes to finally arrive. In Sassy Cat, quarrels and egos prevent main characters Austin and Sanderson from obtaining true goals. Mockumentaries such as Waiting for Guffman and Best in Show and real life cat competitions greatly influenced this film.
