Have you ever had to look through the ingredients on food packages? With the ever-increasing popularity of veganism, gluten-free diets, grain-free diets, and many more, it is necessary to have a better approach. There are numerous resources online that provide nutrition information such as calories, carbohydrates, and sodium content. What they do not provide is ingredient information, which is necessary for individuals with food allergies, restrictive diets, or simply concerns about what they are putting in their bodies. It is time-consuming and difficult to look at every ingredient label while shopping in a grocery store. Know Your Food is a web application that makes accessing product ingredients easier by providing a simple web interface for a user to search by brand and/or product with an option to also narrow results by ingredient. Its purpose is to give consumers a way to purchase groceries with confidence according to their individual dietary needs. The application was constructed using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on the front end, MongoDB for the database, and Node.js on the server-side.
